Summer Swimsuits

Summer Swimsuits

With my upcoming move to the Mediterranean looming, all I can seem to think about is how I essentially will be skipping Spring and moving straight into Summer. Its obviously nothing to complain about, so instead I’ve been dreaming of light dresses and wondering how many swimsuits I would go through in a week. Since some of my bathing suits are seriously ancient, I thought it was about time to upgrade to a few pretty pieces. Here are some of my favourite ones, grouped by this season’s trends.

Scalloped Edges

I’ve always been obsessed with scalloped edging. I love it lining the bottom of skirts, on fluttery cap sleeves, and think they are even better on a bikini. My favourite one I’ve come across is by far this all white Chloe with gold scalloped trim (3), but Marysia is a classic in scallops (2), and the pretty mint of this Topshop one (1) is just as great.

Pattern + Print

Everything from florals, to fruit, to wallpaper prints are in. I love mixing and matching prints and am a firm believer in your bathing suit top not having to match the bottoms (like, at all). This snake print Montce suit (1) is my all-time favourite, and as a little gift to myself, I just purchased it last week. I still have my eye on this adorable watermelon slice bandeau bikini (2), and love the idea of getting this Anthropologie Rashguard (4) to throw over the matching swimsuit (3) in the most gorgeous print, when the waves get rough.

Geometric + Clean

I typically prefer really unique bathing suits, and don’t often settle for plain string bikinis. However, these swimsuits are simple, yet bold in their clean geometry. For me, they evoke a Bond girl feel, which I am all-for! Triangl makes some great neoprene suits, and I especially love this coral and black combo one (1). I think every girl, no matter what shape or size, should have a killer one piece, and this Nasty Gal one is edgy yet elegant at the same time (2). For the simplest of swimsuits, I love a good wraparound one, and this black one (3) is perfect, although if price is an issue, then this Forever 21 version is even better!
